A. Gross Anatomy of Male Reproductive System Definition: The male reproductive system consists of primary reproductive organs (testes) and accessory structures (epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate gland, Cowper's glands, and penis) that work together to produce, store, and deliver sperm. Explanation: The male reproductive system is designed for sperm production, maturation, storage, and delivery. The testes are the primary organs located in the scrotum where spermatogenesis occurs. Sperm then travel through the epididymis for maturation and storage, then through the vas deferens to the urethra. Accessory glands (seminal vesicles, prostate, Cowper's glands) add secretions to form semen, which provides nutrients and protection for sperm. The penis serves as the organ for both urination and sexual intercourse, delivering sperm into the female reproductive tract.
