What must I remember about Present continuous passive?
- Present Continuous Passive voice highlights the recipient of an ongoing action: 'Subject + is/am/are + being + past participle'.
- Used in airport announcements, travel schedules, and transport reports: 'The runway is being resurfaced', 'Boarding passes are being checked'.
- Affixation expands vocabulary through negative prefixes (un-happy, im-possible, dis-embark) and nominal suffixes (-tion, -ment, -ance, -ity).
- Travel itinerary structures require 24-hour clock expressions, departure/arrival schedules, and transportation mode prepositions ('by train', 'on foot').
- Compound nouns common in travel registers: boarding pass, departure lounge, baggage carousel, flight attendant.

The 'being' vs 'been' passive trap
Present Continuous Passive strictly requires 'being' (e.g., 'The luggage is being weighed', NEVER 'is been weighed').
-
Preposition with foot
Always write 'on foot', never 'by foot'.
-
Reading travel timetables (Paper 1 Test 2)
