A. Electrostatic Field and Force
Definition: An electrostatic field (also called electric field) is a region of space around a charged object where another charge experiences an electric force. The electric field intensity (E) is defined as the force per unit positive test charge placed in the field. Explanation: An electrostatic field is created by any charged object and extends throughout space. When another charge enters this field, it experiences a force. The strength of this field at any point is measured by the electric field intensity (E), which tells us how strong the force would be on a unit positive charge placed at that point. The direction of the electric field is defined as the direction of the force that would act on a positive test charge. This concept helps us understand how charges interact without direct contact - they do so through the electric field they create. Think of it as: Think of the electric field like the gravitational field around Earth.
