Chemical Calculations — A/L Chemistry

Aligned with the NIE syllabus

What is Chemical Calculations?

Chemical calculations apply stoichiometric mole relationships, empirical and molecular formulas, concentration expressions, and limiting reagent analysis to quantitative chemical reactions.

Check before you answer

  1. Mole Ratios & Limiting Reagents: Stepwise calculation identifying the limiting reactant and theoretical yield using balanced chemical equations.
  2. Concentration Units & Titrations: Correct conversion between mol dm⁻³, g dm⁻³, ppm, and percentage composition in acid-base and redox titration calculations.
  3. Gas Stoichiometry: Applying the ideal gas equation (PV = nRT) with SI units (P in Pa, V in m³, T in K) to calculate gas volumes and molar masses.
