What must I remember about Reported speech & Simple present?
- Simple Present tense describes habitual actions, permanent states, and universal truths (Subject + Base verb / Verb-s).
- Present Continuous tense describes temporary actions in progress at the moment of speaking (Subject + is/am/are + verb-ing).
- Adjective hierarchy for descriptive writing follows strict sequence: Opinion -> Size -> Physical Quality -> Age -> Shape -> Colour -> Origin -> Material.
- Stative verbs describing mental states, emotions, and possession (know, believe, belong, prefer, love) are not used in continuous tenses.
- Compound adjectives with hyphens (well-known author, open-minded teacher, short-sighted policy) enrich character portraits.
