What must I remember about Second conditional & Essay structure?
- Discursive and argumentative essay architecture: Introduction with neutral background and thesis statement; Body Paragraphs presenting opposing viewpoints; Conclusion with balanced resolution.
- Balancing discourse linkers: 'On the one hand... on the other hand', 'Conversely', 'In contrast', 'While opponents argue that..., proponents assert that...'.
- Concession markers in persuasive writing: 'Admittedly', 'Granted that', 'Despite the obvious benefits, one cannot overlook'.
- Formulating concluding syntheses: 'Taking all arguments into consideration', 'In the final analysis', 'To sum up'.
- Register consistency: Maintain formal academic register, avoiding colloquialisms, contracted forms, or emotive overstatement.
