About O/L Mathematics: O/L Mathematics covers number systems, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics across Grade 10 and 11.

  • Area of a circle: A = π r², so r = √(A)/(π)
  • Pythagoras: a² + b² = c², so a = √c² - b²
  • Simple interest: I = (PRT)/(100)
  • For a length/area/time, keep only the positive square root

Must know

  • A formula is a balance: do the same to both sides, always
  • Change the subject by undoing operations in reverse BODMAS order
  • Squared letter → square-root both sides; letter under a root → square both sides (the whole side)
  • Keep only the positive root for a length, area, or time
